Canvas is a woven fabric known for its durability. The origin of the word canvas is actually derived from the Latin and Greek words for hemp. Canvas Fabric was originally woven from Hemp. Today it is woven from a wide variety of fibers. Cotton Canvas fabric is used to make Canoes. Also sed for Artist's canvas, Beacon Fabric & Notions has several types of Canvas, see below. Untreated Cotton Duck Canvas Fabric in various weights, widths, weaves and coatings. Used for totebags, directors chairs, floorcloths...you name it! Not certified as Organic Cotton Fabric.
